New additions will expand Purshade market reach
Fremont, Calif. – August 5, 2008 – Purfresh, Inc., a global provider of clean science-based solutions for food and water, today announced the addition of three food and agriculture industry experts to its growing team focused on providing the company’s family of pre-harvest sunshield products:
- Dr. Mark Risley,
Technical Development Director
- Timothy Knight, Eastern
U.S. Sales Manager
- Riley Elwin Reynolds, Western U.S. Sales and Technical Support Leader
“Mark, Tim and Riley bring substantial technical knowledge, impressive sales records and extensive networks to Purfresh,” said David Cope, president CEO of Purfresh. “They will support the sunshield division as we expand into a variety of new markets and continue to advance our existing relationships with growers around the world.”
Dr. Risley adds to Purfresh’s cadre of specialized scientists, bringing more than 20 years of experience in agricultural technology development, marketing and sales. At Wyffels Hybrids, Dr. Risley held positions as both marketing director and regional sales manager. He was district sales manager and manager of technical service for BASF Corporation’s million crop protection business unit. Before BASF acquired American Cyanamid, Dr. Risley served as assistant vice president of technical service. In his role at Purfresh, Dr. Risley will drive product development and coordinate global technical support for the U.S. and Europe.
Also a long-time executive at BASF, Mr. Knight was a business manager of the company’s specialty products department. At American Cyanamid, Mr. Knight served as director of global marketing and customer relationship strategies for the life sciences business, working on crop and non-crop products. As Eastern U.S. Sales Manager at Purfresh, Mr. Knight will expand and build the customer base for the domestic sales of its sunshield division.
Mr. Reynolds will apply his substantial experience in agriculture education, sales and technical development to continue developing and marketing Purfresh's sunshield products in the Western U.S. and provide technical support for the Central American market. In addition to his role as adjunct professor of Pest Management at the College of the Sequoias in California and as a specialist in entomology, weed science and pathology at Syngenta Corporation, Mr. Reynolds has worked as agricultural marketing manager at Redox Chemicals, Aquatrols Corp. of America and Sipcam Agro, focusing extensively on water management, soil and foliar nutrition and the marketing of new food safety pre-harvest products.
“As growers focus on increasing crop yields, enhancing quality and improving water utilization efficiency, the sunshield part of the business is growing rapidly and we are excited that Mark, Tim and Riley are joining the team,” said Allen Smith, general manager of Purfresh’s pre-harvest business unit. “Each new team member brings valuable yet different business, technology and customer experience, and has a deep understanding of the agricultural and specialty markets that will directly support our business goals.”
